What is Skyterra?

Skyterra is a Creature-Collecting Roguelike where you play as Bris ("Ber-ee-z") an intrepid explorer who finds the lost floating lands of Skyterra. Together with the friendly various pets on the island (and artifacts that enhance the player), fight back against the hostile creatures aiming to put an end to you, as well as big bad boss, who must be defeated to win the game. Skyterra is a student-led project for their Game Production class (IM 289) at Bradley University made within roughly 3 months.


Pets:

Bris is unable to attack by themselves, so pets help solve that issue by providing you with their own unique attack! There are 6 pets in the game each fulfilling their own niche and job to protect the player and fight back against the enemies that attempt to kill Bris. You can have up to 2 pets, so mixing and matching is encouraged! Find the best combo and roll with it!


Artifacts:

Artifacts are the main roguelike element in our game. Every enemy has a chance to drop artifacts which give various buffs and upgrades to the player in some shape, way, or form! There are 10 artifacts in the game, so go crazy and experiment with them! Be wary, though! You lose all artifacts upon death or win!


OST & SFX:

Most of the music utilized in this game is made by Sean Crawford, a fellow Bradley University student studying in Video Game Music. (Yes, he is the one who created the various different song variations for each pet during roaming and the win screen!)

  • All other music is made by Alibi Music and is paid for through an audio database.
  • All SFX by Brenden Burtz was made using an SFX tool made by Chris McCormick.

Q: I found a bug. How do I report it?

A: You can submit your bugs in the comment section below. :)

Q: Is this game inspired by anything?

A: This game is inspired by Vampire Survivors, but also uses elements from other roguelikes/games like Risk of Rain 2, etc.

Q: Are there any future planned updates?

A: Currently? No. It is mostly just bug fixing and QOL features being added/clarity improvements. However, we are thinking of working on this again sometime in the future or a different game entirely.
